This was created for Adobe as a benchmarking project, that ended up becoming the face of Multi-Frame Rendering in 2021. (This includes a little cameo in that year’s Adobe MAX keynote!)
When Adobe first reached out regarding this project, I was excited for the opportunity – it sounded like it would be a fun technical challenge as well as a creative one. As the project developed, it became clear (to me, anyway) that I was essentially getting commissioned to create a love letter to After Effects, and I have to say it’s one of the coolest opportunities I’ve ever been given. I’ve also since been told that it is, in any measurable sense, the most-rendered After Effects project … ever?
Anyway! If you’d like to see how your system stacks up, and/or just go spelunking in this fun project, it’s still available from Adobe here!
Big props to Wes Slover & Joe Basile for the audio, which is based primarily on the AE render chime and error (goat? sheep?) noise, for yet another layer of nerdy Easter eggy goodness.
